The language requirement
The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot requires NCLC 5 or higher in listening, reading, writing and speaking. IRCC accepts TCF Canada and TEF Canada. Results must be less than two years old when you apply.
Check IRCC’s current score table for your test and test date. Language is only one eligibility requirement. Check the full program criteria and participating community requirements before applying.
A practice session you can repeat
- Choose the app for the test you have booked: TCF Canada or TEF Canada. Practise all four skills before deciding where to spend more time.
- Start with one free reading or listening set. Note the reason for each missed answer: vocabulary, detail, inference or timing.
- Write one response or speak through one prompt. Where feedback is available under your plan, choose one correction to practise again.
- Keep a short log of what changed. Check each skill separately; a stronger skill does not erase a weaker one.
NCLC Ready provides unofficial practice and estimates. It does not determine FCIP eligibility or promise a test result.
Questions people ask
Does a practice score prove eligibility?
No. An app estimate is not an official language result or an assessment of your application.
